The Department of Engineering  is looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support management in the development, planning, and coordination of departmental activities.  

Other tasks include: 

• Handling collecting, prepping, and distributing agenda items for meetings

• Requisitioning materials and supplies

• Preparing departmental budget estimates

• Maintaining accounts & receipts for board and committee meetings

• Preparing and maintaining report records through research and review

• Handling the office calendar and room reservation system

• Reading incoming mail & answering general correspondence as directed

• Attending meetings and recording minutes

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage engineering and transportation system projects within a municipal setting. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful completion of a variety of transportation and engineering projects, ensuring compliance with technical, budgetary, and quality standards. You will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and the community to deliver high-quality results. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure efficient project execution. 

• Provide reporting and oversight under the direction of the City Engineer and Chief Supervisor of Traffic Engineering.  

• Conduct transportation engineering studies, transportation impact analyses, corridor studies, and safety studies. 

• Implement quality control measures to maintain project integrity. 

• Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Proven experience managing traffic and planning projects, particularly within New York State. 

• Demonstrated ability to manage both publicly and privately funded projects. 

• Strong understanding of transportation engineering principles and practices. 

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering or  a Master’s degree in civil or transportation engineering is a plus
