This position involves senior-level governmental auditing and technical accounting work, thorough analysis of reports and/or financial data, and responsibility for acting as the principal assistant to the Chief City Auditor. The Deputy Chief City Auditor helps direct the day-to-day operations of the Office of Audit and Control; plans and oversees complex audits and special reviews; provides guidance on risk assessment, audit planning, quality assurance, and staff development; and supports communication with City departments and stakeholders while maintaining auditor independence and objectivity. Work is performed with considerable technical independence in accordance with adopted professional auditing standards and office procedures. The work normally includes the supervision of subordinate employees as assigned by the Chief City Auditor.

Senior Investigator
Pay Rate:

The Senior Investigator leads and supervises investigations into serious police incidents, such as officer-involved shootings, deaths in custody, and complaints of misconduct or unprofessional behavior. This role oversees investigative staff, gathers and analyzes evidence, interviews witnesses and police officers, and maintains confidentiality throughout the process.
The Senior Investigator also serves as the CPRB’s second-in-command, stepping in to lead the agency when the Program Director is unavailable. All work must be thorough, fair, and unbiased.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervising investigative staff and guiding their work.
Conducting investigations, including interviewing complainants, witnesses, impacted parties, and Albany Police Department employees.
Collecting, preserving, and analyzing evidence.
Conducting canvasses to find additional evidence or witnesses.
Maintaining confidentiality for all case files and materials.
Serving as the second-in-command for the CPRB and leading the agency when the Program Director (or designee) is unavailable.

Under the general direction of the Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Recreation, this is a technical and administrative staff position which entails the overall responsibility for review and development of all new maintenance and preventative programs including maintenance, repair, and field service work at all athletic fields, athletic courts, playgrounds, and spray pads, as well as oversee the maintenance program of the Department’s vehicle fleet and small engine equipment.
